This serves to eliminate stones, pebbles and heavy matter from the product before its treatment in the steam peeler.
The separation comes about by centrifugal effect, the product is discharged from the upper part of the tank, whilst the heavier foreign matter accumulates on the bottom to be evacuated continuously by elevator.
