Centrifugal extractor

For the production of: fruit, tomato (hot and cold break) and vegetable juices and purees.
This monoblock extractor uses a single truncated cone rotor with special configuration to extract-refine with high yields of extracted juices and/or purees.

Description
The mod. 1109 centrifugal extractor consists of:

  • an extractor unit with tangential flow distributor for product feeding, truncated cone extractor body with sieve and sieve support, inspection cover - also allows access for part replacement, lower collector for product collection, collector for waste disposal.
  • Truncated cone rotor with specially shaped product centrifugation and extraction blades, with anti-wear treatment.
  • Extremely effective hot and/or cold water C.I.P. system.
  • Machine central shaft support system, with bearings sealed in an oil bath and device for micrometric adjustment of the axial position of the rotor to the sieve. In this way the distance between the sieve and rotor may be varied to optimize juice extraction.
  • Electric motor complete with drive coupling to drive the rotor.
  • St. st. support frame.
  • St. st. control panel complete with frequency converter for the adjustment of rotor speed.


Operation

The product, such as Hot or Cold Break crushed tomato and/or fruit, is preheated to the process temperature and fed into the body of the extractor through the front collector, which distributes it evenly and in the correct proportions between the rotor blades.
Tangential infeed reduces product impact with the rotating body, thus regulating the feed and reducing mechanical strain on the structure. Thanks to the high speed rotor and the special shape of the profile (precision blades) a significant centrifugal-radial thrust is obtained, forcing the product thorugh the mesh of the extraction-refining sieve.
The concave tip of the blade profile allows recirculation of the product flow distributed over the blades and the generation of turbulence between the blades.
The turbulence created in the product is such, that the kinetic energy of the individual particlesis increased, rendering the extraction processes more efficient.
The dimensions of the sieve mesh vary in accordance with the product and operating requirements.
Gravity brings the extracted juice to hte bottom of the extractor body, form which it is transferred to the product outfeed collector.
The distance between the rotor and sieve is adjusted to obtain the best possible degree of extraction and yield.
This adjustment can be made while the machine is running by regulating the motor rpm with the frequency converter to obtain axial movement of the rotor.

Operating advantages

1) QUALITY: maximum standards compatible with the raw materials and neutralization system guaranteed.
The high quality of the product is obtained thanks to the limited juice extraction of the product between the rotor blades.
Stems, pips, skin and any fragments of stones are not subjected to juice extraction and are discharged with the waste.

2) EXTRACTION YIELD: one of the highest amongst the conventional centrifugal extractors currently available on the market, with a low percentage of moisture in the waste.
The extraction yield is a consequence of the special shape of the rotor and the precision blades.
Various cases have already shown that the high and increased yield of the mod. 1109 extractor allows an extremely rapid return on investments.

3) LOW OPERATING COSTS: the installed power (this being a monoblock machine) is approximately 30%, and in some cases even lower, than that required for conventional machines such as the strainer, refining machine and turbo press.

4) LOW MAINTENANCE COSTS: tha machine does not require particular, costly maintenance. The rotor blades are treated to prevent wear, in accordance with the regulations in force. In normal operating conditions you are advised to replace only the extraction sieve every 2-3 seasons.

5) HIGH POTENTIAL: the machine's high potential is guaranteed by the sieving surface, which remains completely free during normal operation, this feature is guaranteed by the configuration and shape of the blades which, as they turn, remove the product form the extraction sieve, leaving the mesh free of blockages.

6) CONSISTENCY: when working Hot Break tomato juice, the suitable extraction sieve mesh guarantees the attainment of high Bostwick consistency values (following correct enzyme neutralization) thanks to the limited splitting of cells and fibres.

7) NOISE: the mod. 1109 extractor is particularly silent thanks to the perfect balanciong of all rotating and moving parts. Moreover, vibrations are practically inexistent.

8) SIEVE CHANGE: a rapid, simple operation. Simply remove the front cover of the machine. The rotor does not have to be disassembled.

9) C.I.P.: a series of spray nozzles on the extractor body wash the inside of the mobile unit without interrupting production. The shape of the sieve and its supports has also been designed to allow complete cleaning of the work area. Hot or cold water may be used.

10) RELIABILITY: the extractor is built using high quality material, and the size of the various fixed and moving parts are assigned with high safety factors, in order to make the machine extremely reliable.
