Versatility
The plant is capable of peeling products such as potatoes, carrots, beets,
celery roots and tubers in general, by the use of steam at high pressure.
It consists of:
- wire net elevator with flights
- accumulation and weighing hopper
- steam peeler
- steam expansion vessel for solid waste separation
- scrrew elevator to feed the product to the brushers
- dry brusher with positive screw
- washer brusher with positive screw
- electric control cabinet

- steam expansion vessel manufactured in galvanised steel
- AISI 304 stainless steel screw elevator, with large feeding hopper
- brushers with special brushes supported on ball bearings, and positive
product feeding screw manufactured in AISI 304 stainless steel
- electric panel board with synoptic and timers, which allow adjustment
of the feeding time and steam-product contact time.
Maximum yield, minimum consumption:
- possible high pressure working operation, together with a special steam
distribution inside the peeler, allowing a drastic reduction of the product-steam
contact time
- consequent increasing of the peeling yield minimising steam consumption
- the weighing hopper guarantees a constant quantity of product inside
the peeler, avoiding waste of steam
- the large steam expansion vessel dimensions allow two important effects:
immediate pressure discharge with "shock" effect on the product
which helps the separation of the peel "expansion chamber" effect
which guarantees a perfect elimination of the solid waste
- the dimensions of the screw elevator hopper provides a buffer stock
which enables the line to work continuously and regularly
- the positive screw inside the brushers, allows a precise product timing
regulation according to the quality and the ripeness of the raw material
- the two brushers guarantee a perfect peeling operation, even with particular
products, and a drastic reduction of the water consumption because the
first brusher works practically without water.
